I knew these would be the shoes I would learn to walk again in.
This entire album was built around the title track. I had not walked on my own in over a year. I received a pair of Adidas green suede shoes for Christmas. I opened them up and had such a strong and visceral response to these shoes. I knew these would be the shoes I would learn to walk again in. I knew these would be the shoes that would support my feet as I worked my tail off in rehab every day. Indeed, it is as I envisioned. I am walking. I am gaining. The strength is building.
This album has some of my most honest offerings. Pains I have held in my heart and body, unaware, nonetheless still there. From Golden Child, to Imagine, to Never Again, I poured my heart, soul, and emotions all over and through them.
I am honored to share this album and all the ones before and all the new ones to come.
I hope you find a song you love and that speaks to you. I hope you find healing in a melody, a harmony, a bass line, a drum break down, anything at all; I hope you find it and it finds you.
